A recent study by the PEW Research center shows that over 69% of online adults use social networks. (This number increases significantly if you excluded people over 35.) At Submittable, despite being really really old, we’re admittedly a wee addicted to the four horsemen: Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Tumblr. I’m the CEO, and I spend an embarrassing amount of my day communicating with customers via social networks. When starting this company, I never would have thought this would have been the case. But we post service announcements, job openings, and news about our customers constantly. I can’t imaging running the company without these tools.
So love it or hate it, social networking is a cost-effective way to put your organization in front of thousand and potentially millions of people as well as to hear back from them. With this in mind, Submittable has made it a priority in the coming year to add robust social networking tools to the platform.
The first feature is a simple way to promote your calls and categories.
As of last night, your Categories or Job Listings page will include buttons to Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Clicking on them will post that call directly to your wall. This will make it dead simple for anyone in your organization to promote your calls to potential applicants, contributors and hires.
Thanks. Don’t hesitate if you have any questions or suggestions on this. Happy New Year!
-Michael
