What We’re Reading:
Chief of Staff Asta So just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany.
This was fun, a script sequel to the books. It’s a quick read; I finished it over a weekend trip with an airport layover. It started off somewhat clunky but got into its groove. I’ve since read there’s controversy over whether what happens to the characters would truly happen to them, and some fans don’t consider this sequel part of the official Harry Potter ‘canon.’ But I enjoyed revisiting the characters. Now I’m interested in seeing the play—it opens on Broadway next year.submitterspublishingwritingopportunitiesliterary magazineartistsfilmpoetrynonfictionvisual artphotographynewsletter
